Estimation of International Demand Behaviour for Use with Input–Output Based Data

چکیده
A The making of projections often requires an economy-wide perspective, and the estimation of consumer demands at the international level. In this paper, an implicit, directly additive demand system (AIDADS) is estimated using cross-country data on consumer expenditures from two different sources: the International Comparison Programme (ICP), and the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP). The two data sets are found to produce results that are quite consistent despite their differing origins, and the fact that the former is based on consumer goods that embody wholesale/retail margins, while margin demands are treated separately in GTAP. Given the similarity of the results, the estimation based on GTAP data is favoured for economy-wide projection purposes because it can be readily matched to input–output based production and trade data. An additional benefit of the GTAP-based estimates is that they provide direct evidence concerning how aggregate margin expenditures vary with per capita income.

Non-parametric DEA is a technique on the basic of mathematical programming to determine the efficiency of homological decision making units. DEA models changes in demand cause changes in variations in output levels and also will cause changes in a firm’s inefficiency. Often a firm can adjust input influencing on the output level. Models designed with technique on DEA that considers changes in d...

Slope stability is one of the most complex and essential issues for civil and geotechnical engineers, mainly due to life and high economical losses resulting from these failures. In this paper, a new approach is presented for estimating the Safety Factor (SF) for circular failure slope using hybrid support vector regression (SVR) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The ACO is combined with the S...

We undertook a sensitivity analysis of the key demand factors leading to changes of energy consumption in the competitive market, using a Leontief demand-driven approach. We applied the Leontief model to previous research results to study the most sensitive factors leading to the change of energy demand in different economic sectors. Based on the 2011 Iranian symmetrical input–output table, the...
متن کاملA Soft-Input Soft-Output Target Detection Algorithm for Passive Radar
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel scheme for multi-static passive radar processing, based on soft-input soft-output processing and Bayesian sparse estimation. In this scheme, each receiver estimates the probability of target presence based on its received signal and the prior information received from a central processor. The resulting posterior target probabilities are transmitted to the c...

Sediment load estimation is one of the most important issues in rivers & dam reservoirs management and generally in water projects. Various empirical equations show that proper analytical or empirical method is not suggested for correct estimation of suspended sediment, yet. In the present study, to assessment of closer estimation to actual data of transported sediment in Ghoran Talar station l...
